A man came from the front to the messenger of god and said 'o messenger of god give me some advice' the messenger of god said 'fear Allah'. the man came from the left and said 'o messenger of god give me some advice' the messenger of god said 'when you do a bad action follow it with a good one and it will erase it' the man came from the right and said 'o messenger of god give me some advice' the messenger of god said 'deal with people with the best of character'. the connection between action and character is very interesting. the messenger of god said 'bad character corrupts good action like vinegar corrupts honey'. for example, when people remind others of their gestures. it always makes you wonder how insincere them gestures were if they are now being used as a bargaining tool. 'remember when i bought you dinner that time'. the scholars say that the sign a good deed has been accepted is that you forget about it.
